Pablo Sanchez Returns! Backyard Sports Video Game Franchise Set to Relaunch and Expand Into Film, Television and More
Pablo Sanchez and |A| the rest of the |B| “Backyard Sports” crew are |C| coming back as Playground |D| Productions has announced the |E| relaunch of the beloved |F| video game franchise, which |G| will also now expand |H| across multiple verticals such |J| as film, television, merchandise |K| and more. The company |L| assures fans the games |M| will return “bigger and |O| better than ever while |P| staying true to what |Q| made the franchise so |R| special.”
“Backyard Sports is |S| more than just a |U| game; its a cherished |V| part of childhood for |Y| millions of people,” said |Z| Backyard Sports creator and |A| Playground Productions founder and |B| CEO Lindsay Barnett in |C| a statement. “I look |D| at media as the |E| largest classroom in the |F| world. As such, our |G| goal is to produce |H| meaningful content that not |J| only entertains but also |K| educates and inspires. The |L| return of Backyard Sports |M| is the perfect embodiment |O| of that goal.”
The |P| “Backyard Sports” franchise kicked |Q| off in 1997 with |R| the release of “Backyard |S| Baseball,” which was originally |U| developed by Humongous Entertainment |V| and published by Atari. |Y| The series grew to |Z| include a handful of |A| other sports with the |B| launches of “Backyard Basketball,” |C| “Backyard Football,” “Backyard Soccer,” |D| “Backyard Hockey” and “Backyard |E| Skateboarding.” The franchise hasnt |F| released a new video |G| game since 2015.

The franchise |D| is well known for |E| its original characters like |F| Pablo Sanchez, many of |G| whom remain a childhood |H| touchstone for later millennials. |J| Playground Productions said it |K| hopes the new games |L| will “resonate with todays |M| kids while honoring the |O| nostalgia of their parents |P| and uniting generations.”
